This antenna is ground plane independent as it
is a centre fed sleeve dipole and is waterproofed by being covered with
polyolefin heat shrink tubing.
It was designed to cover the ISM/LAN band at
2400-2483 MHz and due to the flat response over the band it is especially
useful for spread spectrum systems such as Bluetooth.
It is ideal in adverse conditions where a small, unobtrusive and
weatherproof antenna is required.
